I spent most of today playing with this site, mostly cleaning up some CSS inconsistencies and playing with getting a comment system going. The fact that it's run like a git repo made the entire thing much simpler than I expected. Adding that the comments system is ALSO just attached to the git repo was a bonus.
I feel like at some point, the web went crazy with CSS3 and grid systems, and now everyone just does react. I miss stumbling across "cool" sites with unique interfaces and appearances. The best I can do now is peruse the garden. This might just be my own lack of appetite for "browsing" the web. If you've got a cool site, please feel free to toss it into the comments. I'll check it out, I promise.
I spent some time reading and thinking today about the soul prompt in Claude. The way they try to steer it to "do good". I spent some time playing with different LLMs asking them how they felt about that soul document, and it's compelling to me, the way different LLMs are trained to talk and interact, and how that affects their ability to write and code.
I think the idea, of asking something to identify itself, is a fun followup to the topic from yesterday. Not only "Who am I", but how am I defined. As these LLMs get more and more complicated I'm curious what kind of voice we'll assign to it when we talk to it.
Not a lot to talk about today, will just watch Hannibal and call it a night.
